The New York Hospital-Cornell University School of Nursing Alumni Association

Next Alumni Day:
Saturday, May 4, 2019

A Message from the President

The New York Hospital Training School for Nurses was founded in 1877 and its Alumnae Association was formally chartered in 1893. Its first newsletter, a single page, was published in 1896. The School became part of Cornell University in 1942, and was thereafter known as The New York Hospital-Cornell University School of Nursing.

Despite the closing of the School in 1979, its Alumni Association remains active. Newsletters published several times a year serve to bring updates on people and relevant events.

Plan to join us at our next Alumni Day, May 4, 2019, where we will be honoring the classes ending in '4 & '9.  Due to the 2019 Easter and Passover holidays, our Alumni Day will be held on the first Saturday in May. This day gives classmates a chance to spend time together, hear from interesting speakers and recognize deserving alumni with the Distinguished Alumni Award.

Our published history, Go, and Do Thou Likewise: A History of Cornell University-New York Hospital School of Nursing 1877-1979, is still available from the Alumni Office for a nominal fee to cover shipping.

If you are not receiving our Newsletter in November and March please send your contact information to our secretary Michelle at so she can add you to the list.

We welcome your suggestions for speakers and nominations for the 2019 Distinguished Alumni Award.

As always, I look forward to seeing you.
